Current Problem
As with all warehouses, we have issues with people picking / putting away and not accurately scanning / recording their actions as they remember where stock is and enter spurious data which doesn't reflect the physical stock. |

| Idea to resolve Problem | Many warehouses have additional 'check digits' on a location to act as a secondary check people are actually at the location. The location will still be labelled with the usual barcode but will have an additional 2 numbers (83 in the attached example) that need to be entered. This can either be every time the location is scanned or at random intervals but is designed to improve stock accuracy. Obviously people can remember these two numbers but stock moves locations on a pretty regular basis so would hopefully reduce errors. |
