Current Problem

When using the PACK AND HOLD status, you cannot print the order. This means if you have several pick and hold orders being released on the same day, it could cause huge bottle necks. Also if you print the order whilst NEW, then set to PACK AND HOLD, when the order is released and set back to NEW, it could easily be double picked if using printed pick sheets.

Idea to resolve Problem I would like this status to allow printing of the order along with NEW status, and block the dispatch until the stated date. The orders can then be picked and held in an "on hold" location, and simply dispatched on the selected dispatch date. Not going back to a NEW status would be advantageous, PICKED ON HOLD would be better.

    Even better would be to allow orders in PACK AND HOLD status to be printed, picked and packed, but not despatched. That way it would be clear to the picker and packer that this order should not to follow the usual workflow and be despatched.

    Currently you have to leave the order in New status so that it can be printed, picked and packed and only then step in at just the right time before despatch to change the status to PACK AND HOLD. Until that point there is nothing to tell the packer not to despatch this order. It would make more sense for the PACK AND HOLD status to be set right from the beginning.
