I would like to also raise this issue.
When processing a external return there is no way in to input serial and batch numbers on a item even if it is active for that SKU already.
A possible suggestion would be to have fields for serial and batch numbers in the external return that pops up whether these fields are set for the chosen SKU.

This should be available both on the web and the app.
