Current Problem
While the ability to set up Shipping Selection Rules and Mappings is really useful, we’ve noticed a couple of limitations in certain scenarios. For example, if an order exceeds the maximum weight allowed by a particular courier service, the system doesn't currently flag this. Similarly, when a manual order is created, there’s a risk that a client may select an incompatible service by mistake. It would be incredibly helpful to have the option to set a weight threshold for each courier service. If an order exceeds this limit, the system could trigger an error message prompting the user to either adjust the number of parcels or select a more suitable service. This kind of safeguard would help reduce shipping errors and improve overall efficiency. We've had our Royal Mail rates increase due to parcels being overweight so this would be really helpful. |

If you have access to it, you could easily use the order rules module to control this. We use it extensively and it is incredibly powerful, allowing you to configure options on loads of criteria. It'd easily do what you require.
Its not perfect (yet) but I'm hoping that with a few hours work, the module can be polished into something even better.
