Totes as locations are a useful feature to have, but it comes with its limitations.
Batches can contain multiple totes - which gets completely lost if there is no tote reference found.
Sometimes we need to investigate the tote's flow, which is not easily possible because Mintsoft only stores the batch. Alternative is using product and location related reports which is not a viable way to look things up. When simple totes feature is used, the simple tote reference in order history was a straightforward, quick way to achieve that. This is what we want for Totes as locations, as well.
Using the tote checker every single time isn't efficient, and realistically you need an easier way to see it.
Also the problems with looking up the tote from order history — is that once order is despatched/invoiced - the tote is released an there is no reference. Because it acts like a location, essentially loosing the last trace of what it was assigned to.
