Current Problem
We have always used a WMS that if no expiry dates are used, defaults to FIFO for stock allocation. I have recently found out that Mintsoft actually defaults to the location with the least amount of stock in it, which could be much newer than another location. I would like the ability to be able to choose to turn this off, so FIFO is the main way for allocating stock. Most of our orders come through integrations, but sometimes customer place large manual wholesale orders and they select newer stock to give their B2B customers more time to sell the goods. These large orders can then reduce a location down quite a lot and with the above logic, future ecommerce orders will actually pick from the newer stock as the location of newer stock will be smaller and we get left with older stock and on a couple of occasions have had to dispose of the stock for the customer. This has caused us quite a few issues, especially if we haven't had chance to condense any stock down during busy weeks/months. |

Idea to resolve Problem | Add the ability to stop the system using smaller stock locations and default to FIFO |
For us FIFO is the most basic picking rule, the amount of items in a specific location overriding it makes only sense as an additional option but not as a principle. At least for 3PL users...
This change was buried in a recent set of release notes - not sure which one but there is a way to solve this - bit us in the proverbial as well......
