QR codes can currently be used as a product ID.
The limitation is that some QR codes are website URL's and that is fine but if you put them in EAN or UPC.
If two URL's are similar i.e. mintsoft.com/1234AAaA would be different to mintsoft.com/1234aaaa and these could take you to two different webpages. If you put them into EAN or UPC it wouldn't be case sensitive and would treat them as the same ID.
