For companies which deal with products in different units of measure, there is no way to identify these.
Idea to resolve Problem
Add units or measure to each product, so if the product is fabric for example, you can choose metres or cms, (this would also mean decimal places are needed) if its a product you can choose each etc.
We looked at this as we have a very diverse product range across our client base but the issue comes when creating the courier labels - you can have mixed orders with different units of measure and the logic required to pass this to the courier would (I imagine!) be challenging...... Our workaround was to issue a single 'new product setup form' that the whole business uses and it's clearly stated on there that the weight (as an example) is in KG's.
